HELP NEEDED downloading

I have my purchased code but but software won't download to my MAC. 

Get error saying TURBO TAX can't be updated as a Read Only volume. Move Turbo Tax to your Applications folder and relaunch it from there.  Updated MAC to latest operating system as well. 
I've done this several times and still get same message. PUZZLED ???

    This sounds like you have downloaded the .exe file instead of the .dmg file.  A MAC cannot open or use the .exe file as this is a windows only file.

    You will need to call Product Support at 800-446-8848 for assistant in switching to the correct version since you already paid.
