Question

Help, turbotax is adding my federal income incorrectly.

turbotax is combining my income and my wife's income into my listed income and then listing my wife's income separately.  The net effect is that turbotax is overstating our combined income by over $40K

It is unlikely that TurboTax is doing this unless you told it to.

 

For example, do you have all W-2s assigned to the correct spouse? Do you have an extra W-2? Ditto with your 1099-Rs and other forms that show income.

 

Which income item is being duplicated?
