Hey community! Anyone here know about qualified dividends? I receive cashflows from a few sources and wanted to figure out how I could receive these flows from stock

Would my stock need to be in a public company and traded on a certain exchange to qualify, or could I do this with private shares?

Any creative ways to look at this? This is for passive, non-real estate cashflows.  Thanks!

Note that dividends are considered portfolio income, not passive income.
