Make a plan that outlines what you already know and what you need to learn.  If you have no knowledge, HR Block offers a training class in the Fall that will get you started and qualify you to interview with them.  HR Block is a great place for someone who wants to learn.  Intuit Academy has free online classes that will prepare you to be a tax advisor with TurboTax Live.   Many people spend a few years working and then study for Enrolled Agent status.
