Hi,Do I need to pay state (NC) tax on my checking bank interest income (1099 INT form)?

You should report all interest income on your taxes.

 

Even if you did not receive a Form 1099-INT, or if you received $10 or less in interest for the tax year, you are still required to report any interest earned and credited to your account during the year.

 

You should enter your Form 1099-INT into TurboTax and it will properly report the interest on your North Carolina state income tax return.
