Question

Hi, I changed companies in April 2022 and just received my W2s from each. To my surprise the W2s are identical including the employer's state ID. Is this normal?

This is only normal if both companies are owned by the same company.  If you are working for two completely different unrelated companies then this is not only not normal it is a mistake -

 

You may be looking at two copies of one W2 - companies send multiple copies to employees.

 

You need to figure out what is going on with this before you file your tax return.
