Question

Hi, I learned that all taxes have been extended to May 17, does that included state tax as well. My W2 are from NY.

New York (NY) extended the deadline for 2020 income tax returns and payments to May 17. First quarter 2021 estimated tax payments and business returns and payments aren't included in the extension, are still due on April 15. For more info, see the Department of Taxation and Finance notice.

New York City (NYC) has not extended the deadline, but is waiving certain penalties for business taxes paid until May 17 upon request. Interest, if applicable, still applies. Read the memorandum for more info.
