Hi, if legally on my child’s birth certificate his name has been changed, will it be a problem for taxes that I haven’t updated his name in the military system?
There was a mixup with the hospital when my son was born and we registered under the military dependent system with the wrong name to ensure he could continue getting seen at the doctors office on base while I processed the name change paperwork. His name is still wrong in the military system but has been updated by the state. I just have to show the paperwork. Will this be a problem with tax filing since his legal name is changed?
