Question

Hi, my 1099-DIV field 1 and 2 has negative values, when I input into the form in Turbotax it gives me error report, what should I do? Can I claim the loss elsewhere?

I am not sure why the number would be negative, but you can't enter the form 1099-DIV that way. I suggest you find out why it is negative by contacting the company that issued it, then maybe we can help you.

 

You need to leave the 1099-DIV entry off the tax return though.
