Hi my final tax return is $3,009. I will pay $177 for the deluxe upgrade and 2 state returns. If I choose to pay with federal return will they charge me more than 177?

Yes, there is an extra $40 fee ($45 California) for that "pay out of refund" option.

Are you being charged $59 for a Deluxe Federal return, and $59 each for 2 states?  If so, that would total $177, plus possible sales tax on top of that.   Be aware that prices usually increase sometime later in March.

Yes, you will be charged an extra fee if you choose the option to pay your product fees out of the Federal refund.   The fee for that "pay out of refund" option is $40 ($45 for California filers.)   You will avoid that extra $40/45 service fee if you choose instead to pay by credit card, debit card, or a prepaid debit card you can buy in a store.
