Hi, my question is, if I didn’t work all of 2018, but I have 2 dependents under the age of 18, and received assistance, do I still file or I wouldn’t get a refund anyway?

You need earned income to get any Earned Income Credit refund.  If you didn't pay any taxes in, you don't have any to be refunded to you.

Who supported your you and your family all year?  They may qualify to claim all of you on their return.

Just curious, because I was reading, some that have not worked have received a hefty amount back just because of their dependents
