Home Office Question

We have a home office (Grooming Shop) for our Dog Grooming Business in our home. In a room adjacent to the home office in the basement, we had sump pumps and French drains installed to repair a water seepage and mold problem. Would this be considered a repair to the entire home and deductible for the home office deduction?

Yes, that would be considered a whole house repair.  A portion of the repair will be deductible as a home office expense based on the size of the home office versus the whole house.  For example, if your home office is 10% of the total square feet of the house, then 10% of the repair cost will be deducted as a home office expense.
