House Sale and Form 8949 Error in TurboTax

I entered all the data on the Home Sale Worksheet but the numbers were not properly carried over to the Form 8949.  The Form 8949 shows the gross selling price of the house in Part II, a. It carried over line 3 from the Home Sale Worksheet; it should have carried over line 5.

This results in Part II, g on Form 8949 being incorrect.  The correct amount of the gain and the adjustment is on line 7 of the Home Sale Worksheet.

How can this be fixed?  My worksheet is fine; TurboTax is completing the Form 8949 incorrectly.

If you indicate that the home sale exclusion applies ($250,000 or $500,000), and the gain is within those parameters, then TurboTax treats the sales expenses as irrelevant (which they are).

If you do a test where the gain is greater than the exclusion, TurboTax accounts for sales expenses.

Regardless, if you indicate that a 1099-S was not received and the gain is no greater than the exclusion amount, a Form 8949 will not even be generated.
