If you have not filed, simply return to the payment section and change it. If you have already filed, it is too late to change the debit date. The state can debit from that date into the future. If you are making an online payment or mailing a check, you do not need to worry about the date you said you would pay.

Of course, a timely payment to avoid penalties and interest is best.
