It should automatically switch to Head of Household when you enter a dependent.  Did you not have a child on the original return?

Yes I did but I am also only 17 and my parents didn't claim me as a dependent but someone who is not related to me is trying to claim me even though I only stayed with her for a few months.  This person is also trying to claim my daughter also.

Are you providing over one-half of the expenses to maintain your home?

And that is for an entire year, not for just a few months.

How are you HOH if you are only 17 years old? How long did you live with your parents? When was your daughter born?

17 year olds don't usually qualify for Head of Household (HoH).  But, age is not one of the HoH rules. It also depends  on how much is a "few" months and how "not related" the other party is and on where you lived when you were not living with this other person who is trying to claim you.

How much was your 2017 income?

The first requirement for filing as head of household is that you must have paid for more than half of the expenses for the entire household for the entire year. This means that you must have paid more than half of the total household bills, including rent or mortgage, utility bills, insurance, property taxes, groceries, repairs and other common household expenses.

You can report that other person here:

How did that person get your and your child's SSNs?
