Add $1 of interest income on a Form1099-INT so you can e-file the tax return.  On the 1099-INT use any name for the Payer and enter $1 in box 1 of the form.

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home & Business)
Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home & Business)
Click on I'll choose what I work on
Under Interest and Dividends
On Interest on 1099-INT, click on the start or update button

Or enter interest income in the Search box locate in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to interest income

If you want to e-file a "zero" income federal return, a trick you are allowed to use is enter $1 of interest income on the federal return; then you can e-file federal and state.

But watch out--you are posting from online Deluxe.  Did you choose that on purpose?  You might need to downgrade to use the Free Edition.

No I did not! thank you very much for pointing that out. I was wondering why it was more than I expected at the end.  Luckily I just saved the return so I can start over. Thank you for helping and saving me!
