Question

How can I edit my 8889-T? I don't know where it got the number from to begin with.

I made no contributions to the HSA. My employer made one initial contribution.

On your W-2 in box 12 there is probably a code W with an amount. This is the combination of your employer's contributions (if any) plus your contributions by payroll deduction (if any).

Please do not edit your 8889 in Forms mode - not only is this likely to be wrong, but may void your Tax Accuracy Guarantee as well as make it impossible to e-file.

With TurboTax, it is best to try to make your changes through the interview (Step-by-Step mode)..

So what is your problem with the 8889?
