How can i find a confirmation that my extension was processed?

When you are signed into your TurboTax account, click on Federal Extension in the bottom left corner. It should show you the status of your extension. If you already filed an extension elsewhere and you do it again through TurboTax, you will get the following screen -

Thank you. I also got an email confirmation from turbo tax saying it was filed. It was delayed about 15min, but nevertheless I got it. My next question is does it automatically file a state extension or do I have to do that separately? I did not get an confirmation saying a state extension was completed

Extensions vary from state to state. In some, you do need to file something and in others, you just need to pay any amount due. This TurboTax Help article has information state by state. State Extension Information
