How can I just send the state taxes? I sent my 2018 taxes to IRS and struggled with MD state taxes before learning of turbo tax.

If you did not use TurboTax to prepare and file your federal return you will not be able to use TurboTax for a state return. In the TT software, the information flows from the federal return to the state return. You cannot prepare a "stand alone" state return.

You could try using your state's tax web site to prepare your state return. You will need a copy of your federal return while you work on it.
