why would you want to lower your refund? and are you asking about dependents to claim on W-4  - more won't help.

Your question as worded makes no sense.   Are you really asking how to have less withheld from your paychecks so that you have bigger paychecks but less as a tax refund at tax time?  Claiming dependents will not accomplish that.
