How can I receive my w2 from a company i no longer work for, like kroger for the 2017 year

You should contact Kroger if you don't receive it soon. However, if you were paid W-2 wages from Kroger during tax year 2017, they should issue your tax document. They do have until January 31, 2018 to mail your W-2.
You may also be able to import your tax document from Kroger, if they partner with TurboTax for this feature. You will need to know the employer's EIN.
