how can I transfer my returns from on-line filing in 2023 to the downloaded version of 2024?

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Start the 2024 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.

On the Tax Home webpage -

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year 2023 and Click on Download .tax file

I follow your steps, but at the end, when I am on the Tax Home webpage, and scroll down, I can't see the section Your tax returns & documents.

In my Windows Desktop program when you start a new return (go up to File-New Tax Return) There is a blue button to Continue from TurboTax Online.

I wrote up some new steps and made a screenshot.

In my Windows Desktop program, there is a new way to Transfer directly from last year's Online return.

Go up to File - New Tax Return
If you get a box listing current returns, under the box click on Start a New Return
That will bring up your 2023 returns if you have any on your computer
There will be a blue button to Import From TurboTax Online

When I follow the steps that you suggest, I can't find the files when I browse because these files are not saved on my computer. In 2023 I used an on-line version.

When I sign up on-line, I can see my filings from 2023, but they are all in pdf format.

Is there another way to bring my 2023 info from the web-filed version to the desktop version that I bought from costco?
