Question

How do I add different W-2s to different states I have lived in?

I added all my W2s to the federal wages and income section. Some are from Idaho and some from Washington because I moved in 2024. All of the W2s transferred to my Idaho state return and I don't know how to transfer one to my Washington return. It is having me file the Federal and Idaho returns at the same time.

All of your W-2s are entered in the federal section.   TurboTax will transfer the income to your state returns and you will Tell TurboTax which ones belong to each state when you prepare your state returns.   Washington state has no income tax, so you don't need to file a WA return.   Since you moved during 2024, you will file a part-year Idaho return with your federal return.

If you were a resident of two different states during the tax year, follow these steps.   When you go through the Idaho return, allocate only the wages you earned in any state while a resident of Idaho.   That link has the full instructions, but you only need one part-year return since WA doesn't have income tax.
