How do I add frontline worker pay to my federal income

Are you trying to add labor expenses to your Schedule C Profit or Loss From Business?  If so and you are using TurboTax online, follow these steps:

 

  1. After signing in to your account, select Federal left margin.
  2. Select Wages & Income, left margin.
  3. From the Your income and expenses screen, scroll down to Self-Employment.
  4. Click on the Show more drop down arrow if necessary and click Start across from Self-employment income and expenses.
  5. Continue to enter information about your business.
  6. At the screen Did you pay any employees in 2022, select Yes, I paid W-2 employees.  If the individuals you paid were not your employees, then click on Help me prepare and file W-2s and 1099s and follow the instructions. 

In TurboTax CD/download the process is a little different.  From the Wages & Income screen, scroll down to Business Items and select Business Income and Expenses and enter your information.
