In TurboTax Online, you can do just that with the Clear & Start Over feature as long as you haven't paid or registered yet.

  1. Sign in to TurboTax Online and open your return by clicking the orange Take me to my return button.
  2. From the My Account dropdown menu, select Clear & Start Over.
  3. Answer Yes to Are you sure you want to clear your return?
  4. After your entries have been cleared out, we'll prompt you to select a TurboTax product so you can start over from the very beginning.
  5. If you're signed in under last year's login, we'll automatically transfer last year's info over if you select the PLUS upgrade, Deluxe, Premier, or Self-Employed. Federal Free Edition (without PLUS) does not include the year-over-year transfer feature.

If you can't Clear & Start Over after you've registered, and it's convenient, consider opening a new account under a new username. Up to 5 accounts can be tied to the same email address.

What an awful system, I just spent two hours doing my taxes and at the last second accidently clicked on a product which I never used.  Now I can't rid of it.  I tried restarting my taxes from scratch (are you serious) because that the only solution available.  However, it didnt work.  Now I am back to square one but still paying for "TurboTax Deluxe Live."  I'm so steamed right now.  Terrible product

This is an old thread from over 3 years ago that transferred into the new forum format in 2019..  Some of the information in it no longer applies.

 

What are you trying to remove?   We don't know what you accidentally clicked on.   Are you trying to remove the Live feature and go to regular Deluxe?  The Live feature allows on-demand help from a CPA/EA expert during return preparation and a review of your return prior to filing.

 

Here's how to try to remove it.   The FAQ shows 2 scenarios.   If you started in a different product then added Live later (which it sounds like you may have done initially), you may be able to remove it with a link "Remove TurboTax Live" on the Your Order Summary screen.

 

However, if you were in Live Deluxe from the start, then the only way to remove it is to "clear and start over" as long as you haven't already paid.
