How do I change from employed to self employed filing status mid-year?

This is not a field in my online account. Tried various ways of creating a new SE tax filing but using my account number just puts me back in my prior year returns. Starting a 2019 SE return is simply not an option for me to click. Very frustrating. Surely I don't have to create a new persona or account...

You cannot start any kind of 2019 tax return at this time. The software for a 2019 return will not be released until late November 2019. When the software is available to prepare a 2019 return which you will not file until 2020, you will have the chance to choose either online Self-Employed or desktop Home and Business to prepare a return that reports your self-employment income and that can prepare a schedule C.
