During the final filing steps on your return you can select how you wish to receive your refund. You can elect either Direct Deposit into your bank account, Receive a Check from the IRS, have the refund deposited to a Green Dot Bank Card. Up until you file the return you can change the method of receiving your refund.

If your return has already been filed you will be unable to change the method of receiving the deposit. How do I change the way I receive the way my refund is .... will explain the different options you have after you have filed your tax return.
