Whether or not the alimony payment is deductible is dependent on the date that your divorce was finalized.  The TurboTax FAQ I'm linking below gives you information, as well as instructions on entering the alimony payments if you qualify.

Assuming your divorce agreement was executed before Dec. 31, 2018, you can deduct your alimony payments by following these directions.

  • While signed in and working in TurboTax
  • Click on Federal in the left-handed black menu
  • Click on Deductions and Credits
  • Scroll down to Other Deductions and Credits
  • Click on Alimony Paid

"Beginning Jan. 1, 2019, alimony or separate maintenance payments are not deductible from the income of the payer spouse, or includable in the income of the receiving spouse, if made under a divorce or separation agreement executed after Dec. 31, 2018. "
