How do I download my in-progress 2020 tax return from the Online version and upload it into the Desktop version? I want to use the Desktop version to file.

On the home page, before you resume your tax return,

scroll down to "Your tax return and documents".

click Show and scroll down some more.

It is the last item.

Oh and then After you get the program installed the first thing to do before you open your tax return .tax2020 file is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to FILE - NEW).
