You should have received the license code when purchasing the TurboTax software. You will need it to download and install TurboTax on your personal computer.
I am unable to start with a log on. message is "Failed to runSetUp.exe, working dir= c:/users//user/app data/local/temp/ckz-K5KG (check to see is this file is in the EXE)"
I do not know what this means or how to check the EXE. Also, the slanted marks that i used are supped to be slanted backwards. HELP!
Did you buy it from Costco Online or in the store? If you bought it online this is how mine was.....
1/3/25 Bought Home&Business from Costco online. 20 min later got email with License Code and download link. Clicked on Download link. It took me directly to Turbo Tax to download. Had to pick my product then select Win or Mac. Program downloaded.
Had to go to my Downloads folder. Clicked on downloaded .exe file. It started but stopped saying I needed Microsoft Visual C++ with an install button. I clicked on it and it installed the MS Visual C ++. Then it continued to install Turbo Tax.
Checked on the License Agreement. Clicked on Install. Minute later it was done and launched. Sign in to Intuit Account, had to get email code to enter. Got License Code screen. Went and copied 16 digit code from email and pasted it into code box. Got into program. First thing I did was check for updates. Then I always go up to Online-Updater Preferences and check Ask me before getting updates.
The license code I got was with my purchase so no one emailed me a link. Mine will not work because I cannot get to where you were. Can you send me the email that sent you the link? Maybe someone at Costco can help me since no on at Intuit give a care.
Costco should have provided you with download instructions and an activation code. If you didn't receive those things you need to return the product to Costco and request a replacement.
I purchased Turbo Tax Deluxe from Costco and received my activation key via email about 20 minutes later. Whether I click the Download link in the email from Costco or copy the link and Paste>go in my browser (Chrome), I get a spinner for a while and then it stops on a blank screen. I tried clearing my cache and also tried an incognito tab, but get the same thing every time. There's a, "for issues with download link below, go to https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/install-turbotax/" in the email, but that doesn't work either. Any thoughts?
I just went to that website and clicked on the Premier edition, then selected Windows and the installation file (356MB) was downloaded to my PC's download directory immediately.
@DoninGA When I click that link, I still get a spinner that goes for a couple of minutes and then stops on a blank page. It does not take me to the website to select the edition I purchased. Just a blank white page.
You can go HERE to download the TurboTax Desktop Software. When you select the product, it will give you the option of Windows or MacOs for the operating system. During installation, you will be asked to enter your License Code. @DarrenDunbar60
