You don't enter it.  TurboTax is programmed to handle it automatically.  You just enter your 1099-G, with the total amount of unemployment. 

 

To verify that it happened, look at Schedule 1, line 8 , for the deduction.

You will enter you unemployment income and TurboTax will automatically deduct the $10,200 on line 8 of Schedule 1 if you qualify.

 

If your modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) is less than $150,000, then you can exclude up to $10,200 of unemployment compensation paid in 2020 from your taxable income. Amounts over $10,200 for each individual are still taxable.

 

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account 
  2. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “unemployment”
  3. Click on “Jump to unemployment”
