How do I exclude income from a government money market fund reported as ordinary dividend from my NY state tax return

    Edit that 1099-DIV form in the Federal section

    on the page AFTER the main 1099-DIV form....check the top box

    "A portion of these dividends is U.S. Government interest"
    ...then continue to the next page where you enter the sub-portion of box 1a that was from US Govt bonds

    Continue thru the rest of the followup pages until you are back to the main menu....and it should now be dealt with automatically on the NY forms.
