Remember, an extension gives you more time to prepare your taxes, but it doesn't extend the time to pay your taxes. If you have an indication that you will owe taxes, you should make the payment by the original due date of the tax return to avoid additional interest and penalties.

It is too late to request an extension---you had to do that by midnight on 4-15-2025. Now your return will just be late unless you happen to live in one of the federally declared disaster areas that have additional time. If you are in one of those areas, the IRS will identify that when you file the return.
