How do I file for a tax extension. I don’t have my W’2 yet.

Yes, you are allowed to file for an extension by using the Extension to File IRS website. You can also file an extension with TurboTax by clicking the link below.

Follow the prompts and use last year's income numbers if you think they will be close.  If you have a paystub for 2023, you can uses that amount. If you don't have money to pay a possible tax and you believe you have federal withholding you don't have to pay now. Once you get your W-2, you can file your tax return.
