How do I file taxes for 1099Misc with wrong SSN when the employer refuses to correct?

    I would report the amount received (from the 1099-MISC-if it is correct) as income not on a Form 1099-MISC using the directions below (the second paragraph):

    The person whose SSN that is will have to explain to the IRS and if they ever ask you, you can hold onto that form and your return to prove you claimed the income (that is really all the IRS cares about).
