Question

How do I fix my Illinois state taxes. They have been rejected for the last 5 years. How do I correct this?

I'm owed a refund every year, but they get rejected every year. How do I fix this?

If your e-file was rejected and you were not able to fix it and e-file, then the returns should be printed, signed and mailed to the state.  Sadly, you have forfeited some of those refunds by not taking care of this sooner.   E-filing is permanently closed for all past years.  Only a 2024 return can be e-filed.  The other years must be printed, signed and dated in ink, and mailed to the state.

We cannot see the email that tells you why your 2024 IL return was rejected.  What is the rejection message or rejection code?
