How do I get a 5 digit pin for the wife to file jointly? She doesn't have one, as she is in the US on a visa, and has a work permit, and a SSN.

She also doesn't have a state ID, how do we file online the state taxes. All she has is a passport, work permit, and SSN.

Do you mean the Self-Select Pin? The Self-Select PIN is a random five-digit number that you enter as your electronic signature when e-filing your return. You can reuse the same number created last year as well. Please see our Help Article for more details. Also, IDs provide another layer of protection, but you do not need them to file. Please see our Help Article for more information on this.
