I don't know how this got on deluxe and now it wont let me change to free

The only way to downgrade your product is to use the "Clear and Start Over" feature. That's only an option if you haven't yet registered your product, or made payment of some kind. I'll share the link to the TurboTax FAQ that will instruct you on using this feature.

How do I clear and start over in TurboTax Online?

You should know that you may still be required to upgrade from the Free Edition depending on your individual tax situation. The TT program will prompt you if that's necessary.
