What is a standard child tax credit

The current form W4 shows $2000 as the child tax credit however that is increasing with the new tax law to $3600 per qualifying child. 

 

To help create a W4 it may be easier to use this application link.  In the end it will print a W4 that you can submit to your employer.  The number and boxes will be filled based on your answers to questions using your most recent pay stub.
