How do I make my tax payment on TurboTax if I owe money?

The most likely reason you owe is that you just didn't have enough taxes withheld from your paycheck(s), and/or you didn't have any deductions or credits to offset your income. 

• This leaves more income to be taxed resulting in a lower refund or the need to pay additional taxes with your return.
• You may want to adjust your Form W-4 so the correct amount of taxes is taken out of your paychecks.

There are several different ways to pay your tax bill in TurboTax.

• Direct debit (free)
• Credit or debit card (convenience fee)
• Check or money order (free except for postage)
• IRS Installment Agreement (this may be free or have a fee, depending on your circumstance)
• Cash (at a retail partner)

If you already filed your return with the IRS, choose a payment option through the IRS instead of trying to pay through TurboTax.
