For another way to enter your Unemployment from your 1099-G, you will log into your account on TurboTax Online, or open your TurboTax Desktop program. You can follow the steps listed below:

  • Log in to your TurboTax Online account
  • Click Take me to my return
  • Go to Federal Taxes
  • Go to Wages & Income
  • On the Wages & Income page, look for Unemployment
  • Next to Unemployment click Show More 
  • Choose to Start

After you choose to start the Unemployment section of your income, TurboTax will guide you through entering the information.
