Question

How do I update my stimulus submission to add a dependent? I'm not required to file taxes.

If you have already received your stimulus payment, it is too late to add a dependent to your record. If you haven't received it, the only way to add the dependent would be on the stimulus payment portal: 

Get My Payment

 

The original deadline for doing that was May 5 so it may be too late to do it now. If you don't get the $500 payment for a dependent under the age of 17 in 2020, you can claim it on your 2020 tax return when you file it in 2021. The payment is actually an advance on a 2020 credit.
