To calulate the sales and use tax you need to know the following: 1. Price of item, 2. County/State sales tax rate.

 

To calculate you take the purchase price and multiply it by the state and county sales and use tax rate.

 

For example in Georgia, if your purchase price was $100 multiply that by .07 (which is the 7% sales and use tax rate) which would equal $7.00.
