Question

How do you de-select an option that only allows a "yes" or "no" response?

Schedule E requires a "yes" or "no" response to whether 1099s were filed, but only IF they were required.  The software will not let me file unless this option is left blank (neither yes nor no) but I don't have the option to de-select either response.

In TurboTax Online follow the steps below to change your response:

  1. Sign into your account and select Wages & Income > Edit/Add beside Rental Properties and Royalties (Sch E)
  2. Edit beside the correct rental activity > Edit beside Rental property info
  3. Scroll to Owner info > Edit under Required to send a 1099
  4. Correct your answer 'yes or no'.
