How do you know if you have to pay in taxes

You can look in a couple of places to see if you owe taxes or not:

The Federal Refund/Due Meter at top left hand side of your screen is an estimate only, but it will show you what your refund is or what you owe.    It will change as you continually input data until you are completed with your data input.  

is an estimate only, but will show you how much your refund is or if you owe when you are done with your return.

You can also check in your tax summary by following these steps while in TurboTax,

1. While you are in your Tax Home,
2. Select Tax Tools,
3. Select Tools,
4. Select View Tax Summary.
5. This will show your refund amount or the balance due.
