how do you switch one taxpayer to be the primary

Primary taxpayer died during the year. How do I make the spouse the primary now. Still filing MFJ but this affects filing a part year state return.

To change the primary on the return, you would just need to change the name listed first in the Personal Info section.

Also, when walking through the personal info section for the deceased spouse you will need to select that the spouse is deceased.
