Question

How should I fill out my W-4? I am married with 1 kid and with both work full time. Does he claim 2 and I claim 1 (myself)?

We currently are claiming 3 between the 2 of us. My husband claims 2 and I claim 1. I am not sure if this is correct or not. I'm so confused by the form on what I should be putting down.

TurboTax can help you properly complete the W-4 form with the correct number of allowances.

If your using an online version, open your return and search W-4 in the search box. Then select the ‘jump to W-4’ link. Then follow the step-by-step questions on your screen.  Desktop versions will search in the find box.

Withholding allowances vary from person to person based on a number of personal circumstances. Look at your last year return. Did you owe tax? Did you get a refund?

See the worksheet on page 2 of the IRS form W-4 link below. The worksheet is helpful for two-earner households.
