If you filed an Extension in TurboTax, you can still file your taxes on or before April 15, 2019. The IRS will ignore your extension once they receive your Federal income tax return. The same goes for the State (if you file a State return). However, you can delete your Extension form 4868. If you are using the TurboTax Online Version, please complete the following steps below:

  1. Sign in to TurboTax (if you're not already signed in)
  2. Click on the Take me to my Return button
  3. Select Tax Tools> then, Tools (lower left side bar).
  4. Select Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
  5. Select Delete next to the form you wish to delete and follow the instructions to remove.

This still works except you delete in the form viewer instead of via a menu.  Have fun!!

You can't cancel an extension once it's been accepted, but you can still file your tax return anytime between now and October 15, 2025. @honeygracegumaha

How do I file an IRS tax extension?
How do I file an extension for my personal state taxes?
