My turbotax federal and california state returns have my SSN on them but i need help to look at my documents because  the instructions are not clear and I don't see clear instructions on how/if i need to mail them or mail what.

How do I ensure they don't see the SSN numbers?

If you call in, the agents can do a screen share that takes out your private information. Alternatively, you can ask us.

    • If your CA return was e-filed, it does not need to be mailed. If you aren't sure, check your return status on  your account.
    • If you do need to mail your state return, see another post of mine here.

    Reference: CA Where's my refund?

How do we screenshot option to omit SSN? There are only two screenshare options: TurboTax tab itself or entire screen. If I screenshare TurboTax itself, it does what you suggested : which is hiding SSN. BUT my tax return forms cannot be viewed on TurboTax itself. They have to be downloaded as PDF. As such, I have to screenshare my entire screen. Is there an option to hide SSN from the downloaded PDF?

No, there isn't. Those forms will show your SSN.  You could make copies without your SSN to share for learning purposes. Are you trying to determine if they should be mailed or attached or ? Can we help?
