How to fill my dependents' SSN when applying ITINs for them this year?
When I input the temporary SSN [removed] for them in Turbotax, it showed I couldn't use this credit, and became taxes owned. How can I fix this issue?

If you are trying to claim the Child Tax Credit, your dependent must have a social security number valid for employment. If they do not have a SSN valid for employment, then you would only be eligible for the $500 Non-Refundable Other Dependent Credit instead of the $2,000 Child Tax Credit .
